Pittsfield Bill's practice centers on estate planning, estate and trust administration, taxation, business organizations, and succession planning for closely-held businesses. He has extensive experience with strategies for estate tax reduction and income tax planning for individuals, businesses, trusts and estates. He advises individuals and nonprofit organizations on charitable giving issues. Bill regularly counsels clients on the tax and non-tax aspects of choosing a form of business organization and organizing corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities. His clients also seek his advice on the structure of business acquisitions and equity compensation arrangements. |

Professional History Before joining Cain Hibbard in 1985, Bill was an Associate Professor at Western New England College School of Law. A former Assistant Attorney General in New Hampshire, he was Chief of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division. Bill is a former editor of the Boston College Industrial and Commercial Law Review , and has been a panelist at numerous continuing legal education programs. He is a contributing author of Massachusetts Business Lawyering , published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Inc.
