Technology and Internet LawOur Technology and Internet Law Department advises start-up companies as well as established "old economy" companies on all aspects of intellectual property, Internet and other technology issues. We represent clients in the software, hardware, information processing, medical device, Internet and manufacturing industries in a wide array of development, distribution, licensing and other business transactions. We assist these companies in developing strategies for creating, protecting and maintaining their intellectual property portfolios, through copyright registration, trademark registration and maintenance, and the design and implementation of trade secret protection programs. We also regularly advise clients on the law of domain names. By drawing on tax, corporate finance, and securities expertise within the firm, we are well-equipped to advise technology companies on issues of corporate formation, raising capital, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. We help lenders and investors manage intellectual property portfolios, and handle all aspects of intellectual property litigation. Cain Hibbard lawyers have litigated copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters in federal and state courts across the county. In addition to representing companies, we represent many individual artists, writers and musicians. The range of representation includes publishing agreements, licensing, entertainment contracts and other transactions requiring intellectual property expertise.
